Michelle Wie has withdrawn from this week’s Manulife LPGA Classic with lingering pain in her left hip.
Wie, suffering from bursitis, an inflammation in the hip, missed the cut at last week’s ShopRite Classic. She wore a brace on her left ankle while playing and was visibly affected by the injury.
“I was a little bit sorer than expected,” Wie told reporters leaving ShopRite. “It’s frustrating. I can tolerate the pain. It just doesn’t do what it’s supposed to do. I think it’s better, but it’s not. It’s tough to be patient and stick with my game plan with my hip and whatnot.
