So much for building some Solheim Cup momentum.
Paula Creamer and Michelle Wie’s struggles continued Thursday at the Evian Championship, where they both opened with over-par rounds and now are in danger of missing another cut.
Creamer, a controversial captain’s pick for next week’s matches in Germany, bogeyed three of her last five holes and shot 74. Wie made five bogeys and a double during an opening 75. When they finished their rounds, Creamer and Wie were 72nd and 82nd, respectively.
Entering this week, Creamer had missed three consecutive cuts and had just one top-10 finish in her last eight starts.
