SAN FRANCISCO (AP) -- Rory McIlroy won the last two holes with birdies to force overtime and beat Billy Horschel on the second extra hole to make it to the weekend of the Match Play Championship.
Masters champion Jordan Spieth wasn't so fortunate. All square with two holes to play, Lee Westwood came up with the key shots to win on the 18th hole.
Even with a new format, one aspect hasn't changed about the Match Play - many of the top players won't be sticking around for the weekend.
