AKRON, Ohio – Where’s the beef? Andrew “Beef” Johnston is here at Firestone Country Club in LeBron James country, and he’s quite pleased to be making his World Golf Championship debut at the Bridgestone Invitational this week.
Johnston, a 27-year-old Englishman, is one of the few European Tour players here instead of supporting the home tour at the French Open. In April, he won the Spanish Open, his maiden victory on the European Tour, to qualify for the WGC, and gained renown for saying he couldn’t wait to get home “and get hammered” with his mates and mother.
