Weekley's criticism of wraparound season has a few holes

Interesting to see that Boo Weekley’s name is among the early first-round starters who are off to a nice start at the OHL Classic at Mayakoba in Playa del Carmen, Mexico. (He shot 4-under 67.)

Just a week ago Weekley was complaining about too much golf, a wrap-around season “that sucks” and a FedEx Cup playoff system that he still didn’t understand — even though it’s in its 10th edition. Funny stuff, and you can say it was Boo being Boo, but a few things still don’t sit well with his criticisms:

  • When Weekley bombed out as a PGA Tour rookie in 2002 (he missed the cut in 19 of 24 events, was 200th on the money list), he had the luxury of playing a Web.
