HARRISON, N.Y. – Karrie Webb made a strong start in the bid to win her eighth major championship title.
With a 5-under-par 68 Thursday, Webb moved into a tie for third in the first round of the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship at Westchester Country Club. She’s two shots behind Jenny Shin.
Webb is seeking her first major championship since winning the Kraft Nabisco nine years ago. She hasn’t lost the winning habit, though. She won a pair of LPGA titles last year, the 40th and 41st of her career.
