NASSAU, Bahamas — They took down the course record at the Albany Championship Golf Course Saturday. Twice. But it was suggested with a smile that they put up two asterisks.
“Other than no wind, softer greens, and the forward tees, it’s the same course,” joked Adam Scott, who had held the course record with a 7-under 65. Given that it has been three days of benign conditions on a soft layout, the only surprise is that it took until Saturday of the Hero World Challenge for someone to break it.
Paul Casey did it first, a 63, and Bubba Watson matched that number a few groups later as they created a little bit of separation at this 18-player, end-of-year, island party.
