For a while late Sunday afternoon at Colonial, it looked like Xander Schauffele couldn't miss.
That was, until the penultimate hole.
Tied for the lead with clubhouse leaders Collin Morikawa and Daniel Berger, Schauffele had a 3-footer to clean up for par at the par-4 17th hole and give himself a chance to win the Charles Schwab Challenge outright with birdie on the par-4 18th. But Schauffele was denied by a brutal, 360-degree lipout that ultimately cost him a spot in a playoff.
"Felt like that summed up my week," Schauffele said.
Two holes before Schauffele's devastating bogey, he had made a crucial bogey save.
