Washington women's golf coach Mary Lou Mulflur said she didn't want her players to get ahead of themselves after they opened the spring with a victory at the Northrop Grumman Regional Challenge.
"We have a strategy and a plan in place," Mulflur said then. "… We have to stick to what we're doing."
Well, it's safe to say the Huskies adhered to Mulflur's wishes.
Washington kept its winning momentum by capturing the Peg Barnard Invitational Sunday by three shots over host Stanford. The Huskies shot a final-round, 4-under 280 – the best round of the day by seven shots – to finish at 3-over 571 on Stanford's campus course.
