Three months ago, Washington placed fifth at the Nanea Pac-12 Preview, finishing behind UCLA, Arizona State, Arizona and Colorado. The Huskies then ended the fall ranked 15th in the Golfweek/Sagarin rankings, behind conference foes USC (1), Stanford (3), UCLA (6), Arizona (10) and Arizona State (13).
But give credit to Mary Lou Mulflur's team. They opened the spring in a big way, capturing the Northrop Grumman Regional Challenge Tuesday in Palos Verdes, Calif.
"It was a huge win," said Mulflur, who now has 42 team titles as Washington's coach. "… We won the Pac-12 Preview in 2014.
