USGA announces 34 U.S. Senior Open Championship sectional qualifying sites

The U.S. Golf Association has announced its sectional qualifying sites for the 2016 U.S. Senior Open Championship, to be played at Scioto Country Club, in Columbus, Ohio. Sectional qualifying consists of 18 holes, and the USGA will stage 34 such qualifiers between June 14 and July 11, with players who make it out earning a U.S. Senior Open spot.

“The U.S. Senior Open is senior golf’s most prestigious championship, and we appreciate the support of state and regional golf associations that allows sectional qualifying to be conducted nationwide,” said Stuart Francis, USGA Championship Committee chairman, in a release.
