U.S. Women's Open week field fluctuates with late adds, WD

As U.S. Women’s Open week begins, the field is fluctuating with last-minute adds and drops. On Monday, three additional players were added to the field after the final pre-championship Rolex Rankings were released, and another player gained entry thanks to a WD from a player already qualified.

Jennifer Johnson, who was runner-up at the 2009 U.S. Women’s Amateur, withdrew Monday because of medical reasons and was replaced by Mallory Blackwelder of Scottsdale, Ariz. Blackwelder, daughter of former LPGA tour player and Kentucky women’s golf coach Myra Blackwelder, will make her first Women’s Open start since 2011.

Shiho Oyama of Japan entered the Rolex top 50 at No.
