The Olympic Club in San Francisco will host the U.S. Women’s Open in 2021, the USGA announced Saturday.
The venue’s Lake Course has been home to five U.S. Opens and for the first time will be home to the U.S. Women’s Open.
The announcement marks yet another opportunity for the women to play the iconic venues the men have made their homes on in the championship. In recent years, the U.S. Women’s Open was played at Pinehurst in 2014, Oakmont in 2010 and Cherry Hills in 2005. The Ricoh Women’s British Open also has committed to taking the women to venues historically home to the Open Championship.
