U.S. Solheim hopefuls dine with Bush 43 at Texas LPGA stop

Leave it to Solheim Cup captain Juli Inkster to create a once-in-a-lifetime moment for potential members of her U.S. team before the first ball is even struck.

Inkster masterminded a surprise dinner for Team USA hopefuls with former President George W. Bush and wife Barbara on April 27 at the George W. Bush Presidential Library and Museum in Dallas.

“That was probably one of the coolest things I’m ever going to do in my life,” said proud Texan Angela Stanford. “By far.”

Inkster had met the 43rd U.S. President on several occasions and thought it would be “really cool” for her team to have the chance.
