There will be a first-time champion crowned tomorrow at the U.S. Senior Women’s Amateur.
Tama Caldabaugh will face Pamela Kuong in one semifinal at Hillwood Country Club in Nashville, Tenn. Karen Garcia meets Sue Cohn, the 2013 Senior Amateur runner-up, in the other semifinal.
The most-rested player of the four may be Caldabaugh, who only had to play one match Wednesday (3-and-1 victory over Jane Fitzgerald, the 2012 Senior Amateur runner-up).
Because of weather delays, Tuesday’s play spilled over to Wednesday. Caldabaugh wasa able to complete both her matches on schedule Tuesday, while the three other semifinalists had to finish the round of 16 before their quarterfinal matches.
