University of Oregon's Aaron Wise edged out Great Britain's Jonathan Thomson by two strokes to capture the Australian Master of the Amateurs championship at Royal Melbourne Golf Club.
Wise, one of six Americans in the field, rebounded from a tough 5-over second round with a 4-under third and 1-under final round to hold off Thomson.
Matthew Nesmith was the only other American in the top 20, finishing 19th with aa 284 for 6-over par.
Charlie Dann finished as the only other player under par with a 1-under 287 and Cameron John finished even par 289.
Wise, the highest ranked player in the field used a first round hole-in-one to card a 5-under that kept him a stroke off the lead.
