United States extends Palmer Cup lead in singles matches

The United States team extended its lead at the Palmer Cup, earning 7.5 points during Saturday's singles matches.

Alabama's Robby Shelton and Vanderbilt's Hunter Stewart led the way for the team in red, white and blue once again, keeping perfect 3-0 records with wins over Florida State's Rowin Caron (3 and 2) and Stirling's Mathias Eggenberger (6 and 5), respectively, after teaming up for two wins on Friday. The U.S. team leads 13.5-6.5 with Sunday's singles matches remaining.

Florida State's Jack Maguire also logged a convincing win for the U.S. over Europe's Gary Hurley, as he made four birdies and an eagle en route to a 6-and-5 victory.
