Danny Lee wasn’t able to defend his title at the Greenbrier Classic after the PGA Tour event was canceled because of devastating flooding. He filled the opening in his schedule with a spot start at the Scottish Open, and the move paid off Thursday with a 1-under 70 to sit just two shots off the early lead.
Lee was 4 under par in cold, windy conditions before dropping three shots in his final five holes, including a double-bogey 7 on the 18th. He was two shots behind Scott Hend and Felipe Aguilar.
