Jonathan Garrick and Cole Madley combined to shoot 13 under to catapult UCLA into the overall lead after two rounds at the Amer Ari Invitational at Waikoloa Kings' Course in Waikoloa Village, Hawaii.
The Bruins, who are ranked 30th in the Golfweek/Sagarin rankings, shot a 16 under 272 on Friday, good for a tie of second best of the day. Arizona State shot 17 under 271 to recover from a first day 290, but the No. 15-ranked Sun Devils are still 10 shots off the lead.
Oregon State also shot 16 under, led by Jonas Liebich’s 9 under that shot him 83 spots up the standings.
