DUBLIN, Ohio – Regrets keep pouring into the U.S. Golf Association offices, with the withdrawals for Monday’s U.S. Open qualifier having reached 19.
We say Monday with a blanket of desperation, that is, because the forecast calls for a 100 percent chance of rain – likely very heavy early, with lightning in the air – and players know chances are good the qualifier will be pushed into Tuesday.
The weather, however, had nothing to do with Kevin Kisner’s withdrawal. It’s his health.
“I’ve been fighting a bad back all week and I have an issue with my swing that I don’t want to get into, so (rather than) go 36 holes, I (chose) to give it my all today and see what happens.
