LYTHAM ST. ANNES, England – The U.S. team of Lee McCoy and Mike McCoy started slowly, never led and gradually watched their foursomes match against the Irish duo of Jack Hume and Gavin Moynihan slip away.
The two McCoys, who share no relation, lost 3 and 2 in a difficult Saturday morning session of the Walker Cup, which resulted in the U.S. going down 3 to 1 heading into the afternoon singles.
The pair struggled to find the narrow fairways at Royal Lytham & St. Annes and to failed to execute the shots required in the tricky winds.
