DORAL, Fla. – Donald Trump cuts a larger-than-life figure, and never more so than in the billionaire’s improbable bid for the U.S. presidency.
When his helicopter touched down early Sunday afternoon at Trump National Doral, site of the WGC-Cadillac Championship, a tournament lacking much buzz suddenly leaped to life.
Trump, 69, the frontrunner in the race for the Republican nomination, stepped out of the Sikorsky helicopter emblazoned with “Trump” on the fuselage, wearing a blue blazer and a white hat with his signature campaign slogan, “Make America Great Again.”
As he drove in a golf cart across the property, which he bought out of bankruptcy in 2012, a throng of fans jostled to get a glimpse of “The Donald.
