Travel issues keep Laura Davies from her own HOF induction

The World Golf Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony was among the highlights of Monday’s start to British Open week in St. Andrews, Scotland. But the ceremony, which began at 6 p.m. local time at the University of St. Andrews, missed out on one very big personality in Laura Davies.

Davies, who was T-47 at the U.S. Women’s Open in Lancaster, Pa., last week, had one of those travel plans in place that would only work if zero obstacles presented themselves. Unfortunately, mechanical issues with a plane prevented Davies from getting to Scotland in time for one of her grandest moments.
