Tour not pulling tourneys from N.C. over LGBT law

ATLANTA – The PGA Tour has decided not to follow the NBA’s lead in North Carolina.

The NBA announced in July it planned to move next year’s All-Star Game out of Charlotte because of a state law that eliminated anti-discrimination protections for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people. The NCAA and ACC followed suit earlier this month, pulling most of their postseason collegiate games and tournaments out of North Carolina.

On Tuesday at the Tour Championship, Tour commissioner Tim Finchem said that the circuit supports the stance of the NBA and other organizations, but he added there are no plans to move any tournaments out of North Carolina.
