Tour files motion to dismiss caddie lawsuit

GREENSBORO, N.C. – The PGA Tour on Friday filed a motion to dismiss a lawsuit filed by a group of more than 80 Tour caddies earlier this year in California.

The lawsuit was filed in February in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California and claims the Tour has engaged in restraint of trade and anticompetitive conduct involving the caddie bib. It further challenges the requirement that caddies wear bibs with sponsor’s names on them without any compensation.

The motion is scheduled to be argued on Oct. 29.

The Tour also filed a motion for certain exhibits to be filed under seal, including the Tour’s agreements with individual tournaments.
