The Vokey Design Spin Milled 6 wedges became the most-played wedges on the PGA Tour the first week they were made available to the pros at the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open in October, Titleist said. The wedges soon will be available to the public.
The biggest difference between the SM6 wedges and previous models is a new progressive center of gravity design. Most wedges are heavy, with the majority of the weight in the sole and hosel, so the CG in most wedges is low.
In the SM6 line, Titleist positioned the CG directly behind the area of face where players are most likely to hit the ball, based on each club’s loft.
