Tiger Woods got a preview this week of U.S. Open site Chambers Bay Golf Course, complete with the intermittent rain so common in western Washington.
Woods played a practice round Monday at Chambers Bay, in University Place, according to the Tacoma News Tribune, and reportedly returned Tuesday. He was accompanied by caddie Joe LaCava and swing coach Chris Como, among other members of the Woods camp. The U.S. Open will be played June 18-21 in the championship’s first visit to the Pacific Northwest.
According to the News Tribune, Woods played the front nine Monday in about 3 1/2 hours, trying to familiarize himself with Chambers Bay’s sprawling green complexes.
