Tiger Woods falls to No. 266 in Official World Golf Ranking

Regaining his amateur status isn’t in the mix. But Tiger Woods is on track to return to his amateur ranking days.

Continuing his freefall in the Official World Golf Ranking, Woods checks in this week at No. 266. It is a plunge of 234 positions since the end of 2014, when he was 32nd. But more telling is this: It returns to a landscape that Woods hasn’t navigated since the summer of ’96 when he was a 20-year-old turning professional.

His last ranking as an amateur was 434.

The next week, Woods played as a pro in the Greater Milwaukee Open, finished T-60th and moved up one spot, to 433.
