Tiger brings old ballstriking to Greenbrier, but is he 'back'?

WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS, W.Va. – Tiger Woods rolled in seven birdies, hit 10 fairways and 14 greens and swung with effortless rhythm. In other words, his opening round at the Greenbrier Classic didn’t bear any resemblance to his play in his previous six starts in 2015.

Those rounds of 85 at The Memorial and 80-76 at Chambers Bay seemed like a distant memory. It was throwback Thursday for Woods at the Greenbrier Resort, a place that dates from 1788 and makes you feel like you are stepping back in time.
