CHARLOTTE, N.C. – For the second consecutive Saturday Justin Thomas has put himself into contention on the PGA Tour. Now, following his “moving day” round at the Wells Fargo Championship (65) with a solid Sunday is the challenge.
Last Saturday, the rookie began Day 3 at The Players tied for 46th, but charged into the hunt with a third-round 65 to move into the top 5. But he struggled on Sunday (75) on his way to a tie for 24th.
In similar fashion, Thomas was eight shots off the lead when he teed off more than three hours before the front-runners on Saturday at Quail Hollow, but he eagled Nos.
