One of college golf’s premier men’s tournaments will be restored to the schedule this spring after an eight-year absence, Golfweek has learned.
The Maxwell, named after renowned Oklahoma course architect Perry Maxwell, will be played April 16-17 at Dornick Hills Golf & Country Club in Ardmore, Okla. The tournament, which was played from 1992 through 2007 before it was discontinued, will be co-hosted by Oklahoma and Oklahoma State.
In addition to the co-hosts, Augusta, Baylor, Colorado, Houston, Memphis, New Mexico, North Carolina, Texas, Tulsa and West Virginia will compete.
In years past, The Maxwell had been played in early May.
