Texas' Hossler will forgo senior season, turn pro

Beau Hossler, the 2015 NCAA player of the year, has forgone his senior season at Texas and turned pro.

Hossler, 21, signed with Dallas-based Hambric Sports Management and will be represented by David Winkle, the agent for world No. 2 Dustin Johnson.

Hossler is coming off the best season of his career, when he won five events for the Longhorns, led the Americans at the Walker Cup and captured the prestigious Jones Cup.

Last month, he tore the labrum in his left shoulder during Texas’ semifinal match at the NCAA Championship. He was unable to compete in the finals against Oregon (which the Longhorns lost) and underwent surgery a few days later.
