Indianapolis’ victory May 16 at the NCAA Division II Women’s National Championship was a first for this sport. A Florida-based school had won the past 15 team titles, but everything seemed to click for the Greyhounds when the championship came to the Meadows Course in Allendale, Mich.
“It was kind of cool, windy, wet,” Indianapolis head coach Brent Nicoson said of the Michigan weather. “Not until the final round, later on in the day, did it ever get what I would call nice. We were used to it, so it didn’t bother us.”
Indianapolis led from start to finish of the 72-hole event.
