LOS ANGELES – Vaughn Taylor waited more than a decade for his third PGA Tour victory and his playing partner at last week’s AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am wasn’t going to make him wait for a commercial flight.
Following his come-from-behind victory on Sunday at Pebble Beach Taylor’s partner, Gregg Ontiveros, said he was flying a private plane to Santa Monica for business and could give the 39-year-old a ride to this week’s Northern Trust Open.
When the two landed on Monday, Ontiveros said he was heading home. “He tricked me,” Taylor smiled on Tuesday at Riviera Country Club.
