TaylorMade-Adidas Golf trims workforce by 6 percent, company says

TaylorMade-Adidas Golf, owned by Adidas Group, confirmed to Golfweek that the company has reduced its worldwide workforce by 6 percent.

Industry insiders pegged the number of jobs lost at more than 100, but TaylorMade employees would not confirm a number. TaylorMade said many of the jobs were part-time or temporary positions.

TaylorMade also hinted at a restructuring of the company. TaylorMade-Adidas Golf includes four brands: TaylorMade, Adidas Golf, Adams Golf and Ashworth.

The announcement from TaylorMade, in the form of a news release, came late July 16:

“In light of the continued challenges TaylorMade is facing in the market place, we have to fundamentally rethink our business.
