LYTHAM ST. ANNES, England – Chalk up another first for Marcus Kinhult.
Seven days after winning the Sage Valley Invitational in the U.S., Kinhult became the first Swede to win the Lytham Trophy. Kinhult, 18, was the only player in the elite field to match par at Royal Lytham & St. Annes, an 11-time Open Championship site. He shot 68-69-71-72 for a 280 total and eight-stroke victory May 3.
Northern Ireland’s Cormac Sharvin, France's Robin Roussel and Wales' Richard James tied for second at 288.
It’s Kinhult’s second consecutive victory following the Junior Invitational at Sage Valley, when he became the first Swedish winner of that event.
