Suzann Pettersen grabs lead midway through Women's British Open

TURNBERRY, Scotland – Suzann Pettersen has long been considered one of the most talented and naturally athletic players on tour. Some might say the most gifted. And yet, she has only spent a brief time as World No. 1. And while being a two-time major winner is nothing to snuff at, Pettersen always has seemed destined for more.

“I’ve always felt like I had a different gear in my body,” she said.

And now, thanks to the guidance of Butch Harmon, the fiery Norwegian believes she has found it.

“I always thought playing through the Olympics would be a good goal for me,” said Pettersen, after carding one of only two subpar rounds thus far on a demanding day at Trump Turnberry.
