Sun-Ju Ahn is now an LPGA Tour winner.
The Korean native fired a final-round 67 at the Toto Japan Classic and then finished it off in a playoff when she made a birdie on the first extra hole to Ji-Hee Lee's and Angela Stanford's pars.
This was Ahn's 18th career LPGA Tour event, as the 28-year-old finds herself a veteran of the JLPGA and KLPGA tours (where she has compiled a combined 27 wins). In fact, Ahn won at Kintetsu Kashikojima Country Club as a non-member of the LPGA Tour.
Ahn followed a simple formula in reaching a 16-under total that afforded her a chance in extra holes – no final-round bogeys and a quick barrage of birdies, three in her first seven holes, to set her up for a fight to the finish.
