Houston-area professionals Chris Stroud and Bobby Gates have teamed with the Houston Golf Association to create a pro-am designed to raise funds for flood victims affected by Hurricane Harvey.
Stroud earned his first career victory earlier this year at the Barracuda Championship, and he spoke to reporters at the Safeway Open to announce the event, which will be held Dec. 11-12 at the Tiger Woods-designed Bluejack National in Montgomery, Tex., about an hour outside Houston.
"As a longtime Houstonian, I was compelled to call on the professional golf community to help our neighbors rebuild their lives after Hurricane Harvey," Stroud said in a release.
