EDISON, N.J. – Last Friday, Spencer Levin shrugged when asked about the building pressure of his position on the FedEx Cup point list.
“I’m not even thinking about it,” he said.
Turns out, that wasn’t exactly the case, but then Levin’s subterfuge was more for his own benefit than it was for the media.
“It's kind of nice I didn’t feel so much pressure as last week. I felt kind of relieved,” he said of his opening round on Thursday at The Barclays, where he shot a 5-under 65 for a share of the early lead.
