Streb starts strong at Quail Hollow with hot putter

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Like many first-time PGA Tour winners, Robert Streb has discovered that since his breakthrough at last fall’s McGladrey Classic, winning didn’t get any easier.

Following his victory at Sea Island (Ga.) Resort, Streb continued to make progress with top-10 finishes at the Sanderson Farms Championship, Hyundai Tournament of Champions and Waste Management Phoenix Open. But after that run the game became increasingly difficult.

Entering this week’s Wells Fargo Championship, Streb had missed five of his last nine cuts and his best finish during that stretch was a tie for 30th last week at The Players.
