Trump National Doral Miami – Blue Monster
The PGA Tour has been playing golf here at his resort in the Miami suburb of Doral annually since 1962. That’s a long stretch – enough time to let the course that’s now called Trump National Doral Miami – Blue Monster become something of a comfortable slipper to the golf fan viewing from home.
Originally designed by Dick Wilson as a formidable challenge when it opened in 1962, the Blue Monster (No. 188 on the Golfweek’s Best Modern List) began to show its age and its repetitiveness until it was totally revived by architect Gil Hanse in time for the 2014 WGC-Cadillac Championship.
