Still got it: Annika makes Mother's Day ace in Bahamas

Monday, May 11, 2015

RANCHO MIRAGE, Calif. – Lydia Ko nestled a 6-iron to 18 inches on the par-3 eighth hole (her 17th) to get to red numbers and extend her streak to 29 consecutive rounds under par. That ties the record set by Annika Sorenstam in 2004 at 34, twice the age of Ko.

But the most impressive shot she hit all day came on the hole before, when she escaped a group of trees by hitting “a 90-degree hook” with her driver that rolled onto the green. Even playing competitor Lexi Thompson told her that shot was impressive.
