Henrik Stenson had been quite ill for most of the week at the Nedbank Golf Challenge, but the early setback hasn't made a dent in his play.
The Swede birdied five of his final eight holes Friday at Gary Player Country Club and surged into a one-shot lead through 36 holes. Stenson hasn't won a tournament since the 2014 DP World Tour Championship, and aside from that, for a man who once deemed his chances of playing at all this week at 5 percent, it's been a pretty remarkable two days.
"I'm surprised given that on Wednesday afternoon I didn't think I would be able to tee it up.
