Stenson ends victory drought in Germany

The run of near-misses is finally over for Henrik Stenson, who got his first win in nearly three years at the BMW International Open.

Stenson finished the rain-plagued event in Germany at 17 under, three shots clear of both Thorbjorn Olesen and Darren Fichardt after a final-round 71.

It marks the Swede's first worldwide victory since the 2013 DP World Tour Championship, though he certainly hasn't lacked for chances. Prior to this week, Stenson had recorded eight runner-up finishes since that win in Dubai, including second-place showings at this particular tournament each of the past two years.
