Stanford junior Maverick McNealy has taken over the No. 1 spot in the World Amateur Golf Ranking.
McNealy, who won last week’s Illini Invitational at Olympia Fields, now has seven college titles in the past 52 weeks. During the summer, he made the cut at two PGA Tour events, tied for second at the Pacific Coast Amateur, won the Northern California Match Play and advanced to the Round of 16 at the U.S. Amateur.
McNealy supplanted Arizona State senior Jon Rahm, who earned the McCormack Medal as the No. 1-ranked player following the U.S. Amateur.
