Stanford duo McNealy-Badhwar leads U.S. Amateur Four-Ball

Stanford's dynamic duo of Maverick McNealy and Viraat Badhwar took the lead through one round of stroke-play qualifying at the inaugural U.S. Amateur Four-Ball Championship, shooting a 64 Saturday.

The pair coupled seven birdies with an opening bogey at the Olympic Club's Ocean Course in San Francisco, building a one-stroke lead on the field as 128 teams compete for position to make the match play portion of the event. The top 32 teams will advance after 36 holes of stroke play.

McNealy, the No. 1 player in the Golfweek/Sagarin College Rankings, earned medalist honors at the Pac-12 Championship earlier in the week, while he and Badhwar helped the Cardinal win the event.
