BRADENTON, Fla. – In the course of one steamy, sticky afternoon at Concession Golf Club, Stanford moved from the top of the leaderboard all the way out of the top 10. The crazy part? Head coach Anne Walker didn’t feel like her team’s two rounds were that much different – certainly not 30 shots different, anyway.
The Cardinal tied Duke with a 5-over 293 opening round that they finished on Saturday morning after play was called Friday night. Stanford started the second round immediately after that, but the big numbers piled up. A second-round 35-over 323 was the highest round of the Cardinal's season by four shots.
