Stallings’ suspension further clouds Tour’s drug policy, players say

GULLANE, Scotland – Scott Stallings’ recent suspension by the PGA Tour for violation of its Anti-Doping Program has created more questions than answers in some players’ minds.

Stallings, 30, a three-time winner on the PGA Tour, never tested positive for any banned substances, even though he was taking the banned substance when he was tested at a PGA Tour event in early 2015.

Instead, Stallings found that he might have been taking a substance that was nonconforming and reported the possible violation to the PGA Tour, which eventually suspended him July 7.

“I discovered in February 2015 that I had inadvertently taken a supplement for the prior two months that was not permitted by the PGA Tour," Stallings said in a statement released by the Tour.
