Stadler withdraws from RBC Heritage

After returning to action at the Masters, Stadler withdrew prior to his opening-round tee time at the RBC Heritage. He was replaced in the field by John Peterson.

Stadler has been plagued in recent months by a broken bone in his left hand, an injury he first suffered at the WGC-HSBC Champions in November. He withdrew from that event after just two holes, then didn't play again until the Hyundai Tournament of Champions in January, when he withdrew during the third round because of the same injury.

Stadler's start at Augusta National was his first since Kapalua, and while he hit 30 of 36 greens in regulation - two more than eventual winner Jordan Spieth through two rounds - he struggled on the greens and missed the cut by five shots.
